Resend (or similar tool)
We use Resend (or a similar tool) for managing our email campaigns, marketing automation and as part of our CRM system. Resend processes your data in accordance with its own privacy policy, available on its website.
Satellite imagery storage and processing services
To provide you with accurate information about your forest, we use third-party services for the acquisition, storage and analysis of satellite imagery. These providers have access to the geographic data of your forest property only to provide these specific services.
These third-party service providers only have access to the Personal Information necessary to perform their functions and are not authorized to use it for any other purpose. They are also required to protect your information in accordance with our policy and applicable laws. We regularly evaluate the privacy and security practices of our providers.
Artificial intelligence (AI) features
To make AI features available on the Platform, including without limitation the Chatbot, we use third-party services that employ artificial intelligence to process and respond to your requests. These providers only have access to the Personal Information you submit through the AI features of the Platform and only have access to the Personal Information strictly necessary for the intended purposes. We regularly evaluate the privacy and security practices of our providers. When we share your Personal Information with third parties, we implement reasonable contractual and technical safeguards, including data processing agreements, so that those third parties preserve the confidentiality of all Personal Information they process (to the extent required by applicable laws).

- To your forest advisor, which is an essential component of the Fyri service and necessary for the proper operation of the Platform

- To protect our rights, property or security, or those of our users or the public
- In the context of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, provided that the receiving entity maintains a comparable level of protection for your Personal Information
6. International data transfers
The Personal Information we collect is stored in secure systems that may be hosted on servers located outside your jurisdiction of residence in Canada, including in the United States. We may also engage agents and service providers that may be located outside Canada. However, we strive to protect Personal Information under our control, including Personal Information entrusted to an agent or service provider, whether they are located in Canada or in other jurisdictions or countries. In particular, we strive to limit their access to Personal Information to what is necessary to perform the functions assigned to them. - We will close your account and disable your access to our services
- We will email you an up-to-date copy of your Forest Management Plan (FMP). A copy of your FMP will be available from your forest engineer in accordance with the terms of your agreement with them
- Subject to our legal and contractual obligations, we will delete or anonymize all your Personal Information from our active systems within 30 days of your request
- Some information may be retained in our backup systems for an additional period before being completely erased in accordance with our backup rotation schedule

8.3 Retention of anonymized data
After the closure of your account or the end of our business relationship, we may retain certain non-nominative data about your forest in anonymized form to:
- Carry out aggregated statistical analyses
- Improve our services and algorithms
- Conduct regional comparisons (benchmarking)
- Contribute to forest and environmental research
The anonymization process we apply includes:
- Removing all direct identification data (name, address, contact details)
- Eliminating precise geographic coordinates, addresses, municipalities and lot numbers
- Generalizing the location to ecological and administrative regions only
- Grouping data into categories sufficiently broad to prevent identification
This anonymized data does not allow you to be personally identified and is not subject to the same restrictions as personal data under privacy laws.
9. Ownership and portability of data
9.1 Ownership of forest data and FMP
The data related to your Forest Management Plan (FMP) belongs to you as the owner, even though it may have been compiled, analyzed or recorded by a forest advisor as part of their professional services. Fyri considers this data to be an integral part of your forest heritage.
9.2 Change of forest advisor
If you decide to change forest advisor:
- Your data and your FMP will remain accessible in your Fyri account
- Your new forest advisor will have access to the history of your FMP and to the forest data already present in the Platform
- Your former forest advisor will no longer have access to new data generated after the date of the change, but will retain read-only access to data, work and exchanges carried out during the period in which they were your advisor
- The specific technical contributions of the former advisor (such as certain analyses or personalized recommendations) will remain in your file, but will be clearly attributed to their author
9.3 Data portability
In accordance with the principle of data portability, you have the right to:
- Retrieve all your data in a usable and transferable format
- Continue to benefit from the complete history of your FMP and forest analyses, regardless of changes of forest advisor
